Karlsruhe, June 03, 2009 +++ The Business Studies department of the University of Applied Sciences Karlsruhe has adopted the SaaS version of BrandMaker’s Marketing Planner, beginning with the 2009 summer semester. BrandMaker, with headquarters in Karlsruhe, is Europe’s largest supplier of marketing resource management systems. The faculty will use the Marketing Planner in a variety of areas. For one, a five-person marketing group (consisting of Professor Christoph Ewert, who initiated the school’s involvement with BrandMaker, three additional professors, and a scientific assistant) will use the Marketing Planner to plan activities and manage teams. Another area will be the use of the web-based tool by students for a survey research project in the context of a market-research course. “Based on our experience with the first group of student projects, I was very impressed by the quality of the tool,” Professor Ewert reported. “As project leader, I find it very easy to use Marketing Planner to coordinate and monitor the various student groups. Its functions are easy to understand for all users, all relevant documents are attached to the planned items, and the budgeting functions let the students plan scenarios that are financially realistic. Overall, the Marketing Planner is an outstanding addition to our program, and it gives students the opportunity to deal with marketing projects at a professional level.”
In addition, the marketing group uses the Marketing Planner to plan their own projects. This gives the professors and scientific assistant Antje Borbonus an overview of all activities, appointments, tasks, and milestones, at any time and from any location. For example, Antje Borbonus is using the tool for planning a marketing publication. “The Marketing Planner could not be easier to use,” says Borbonus. “Anyone could learn the basics in half an hour.” In the future, even more use will be made of the Marketing Planner, for additional student projects, as well as for Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis work. It is anticipated that students will handle the planning of their thesis work and the communication with their supervising professors using the marketing platform. “We are very pleased with our arrangement with the University of Applied Sciences Karlsruhe. It lets the marketers of tomorrow work with our Marketing Planner today, so that they can learn the advantages of software-based marketing management,” says Mirko Holzer, CEO of BrandMaker.
