Karlsruhe, January 19, 2010 +++ BrandMaker, Europe’s largest provider of Marketing Resource Management (MRM) Software, headquartered in Karlsruhe, Germany, has acquired General Logistics Systems B.V. (GLS), Amsterdam, as new customer. The provider of parcel and express services now uses the BrandMaker Media Pool – the Media Asset Management Module from the BrandMaker MRM solution suite – for the central management and company-wide distribution of its media objects. The web-based media database was set up at GLS simultaneously with the new Content Management System (CMS) Typo3 and was connected with this system. For the seamless integration, BrandMaker has designed and implemented a single-sign-on interface between the Media Pool and Typo3. Consequently, web editors can directly access the content of the Media Pool from the CMS and upload media files for the website, such as images and videos as well as Flash animations and PDF documents – the redundant maintenance of these media in Typo3 has been eliminated. “The ability of the Media Pool to integrate with Typo3 was one reason why we decided in favor of BrandMaker”, said Tina Haag, Senior Manager Corporate Marketing at GLS. “Moreover, the intuitive user interface of the software, the automatic format conversion of media files and the powerful search options were extremely convincing for us.”
In the beginning of 2010, the BrandMaker Media Pool will at first be used at the Corporate Marketing of GLS. In the further course of the year, the roll-out to eight European subsidiaries is planned. Due to the internationality of GLS, the ability of the software to handle multiple languages was a major requirement to the new media database. Besides a multi-lingual backend, BrandMaker has thus extended its Media Pool so that users can also enter and maintain metadata as well as search for media in multiple languages. In the medium term, the logistics provider GLS is planning to use additional BrandMaker modules such as Web-to-Print. The Media Pool will then have the function of central storage and management of all relevant marketing materials. “For a leading company acting across Europe such as GLS, a central data pool for all media objects is an enormous advantage”, said Mirko Holzer, CEO at BrandMaker. “The results are shorter search times, assured media quality and smooth workflows in the media processing and distribution.”
